Devlog 3: Restructuring Containers
In the jam version of Pumpkin Planet, one of my main goals was to make the game playable on a variety of platforms. My HTML5 state-based template is designed to resize and adapt to desktop browsers, mobile phones, tablets, and any other device with internet access. The Steam release will not have this requirement - it's safe to assume that the majority of windows users are playing in fullscreen on a reasonably large widescreen monitor or TV. With that in mind, I start refactoring some of the HTML and CSS behind the scenes. All of the dynamic containers now have a fixed proportional screen size, and I am committed to a finite number of containers: a settings bar at the bottom of the screen, a game menu/info bar on the left side, and the main game content.
The necromancer from Skeleton Scramble Deluxe has become my default profile picture online, so it felt appropriate that it should take center stage on the opening splash screen of Pumpkin Planet.
The Steam store page has also been approved! Head on over there and add the game to your wishlist!
